Tinubu Nominates Bernard Doro as Humanitarian Minister

President Bola Tinubu has nominated for the role of humanitarian minister, Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State.

This was contained in a letter to the Senate for confirmation and announced by the State House.

Doro's nomination is in the wake of former minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction, Nentawe Yilwatda's move to become the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following her elections in July.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga's letter to the Senate read: “President Bola Tinubu has forwarded a letter to the Senate seeking the confirmation of Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

Doro, 56, is with over two decades of experience across clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community development in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom according to Onanuga.

“He has degrees in Pharmacy and law, an MBA focusing on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.

“He is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with NHS frontline experience across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital settings,” Onanuga's statement read further.

Doro will be sworn in at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, if confirmed by the Senate.
