Tinubu Prays for Wisdom, Resilience to Continue Serving Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu says he prayed for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians during his recent spiritual visit to the Holy Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The President spoke with journalists on Monday after observing prayers at the Ka’aba, where he expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity and good health to undertake the spiritual exercise.

Tinubu said he also prayed for Nigeria’s diversity to translate into prosperity, noting that the country is made up of people from different religious backgrounds.

“The prayer is for Allah to convert our diversity. Nigeria is full of diversity. It is made up of all the faiths. May Allah convert all the diversity to prosperity for the country. That is my prayer,” he said.

On his personal requests, the President said he asked God for the wisdom and resilience needed to continue serving Nigerians, adding that he believed his prayers had been answered.

“Well, I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that has been granted,” he said.

Tinubu recalled undertaking a similar spiritual exercise before the 2023 presidential election, when he prayed for a successful Umrah and promised to return to express his gratitude.

He said the opportunity to lead Nigeria was a favour from God, adding that those entrusted with power must exercise it responsibly.

The President also reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing national development and prosperity, saying his efforts would be guided by his faith and the support of Nigerians.

He urged citizens to put God first, follow their consciences and choose the right path towards national progress.

On the economy, Tinubu maintained that Nigeria was emerging from its difficulties, describing the foundation laid by his administration as solid and saying the country's economic outlook was encouraging.

“The foundation is solid. The economy has come out of the dark tunnel. It is inspiring. We need to build the future for our youths,” he said.

He stressed the need to invest in young people, saying current leaders must prepare the country for future generations.

Tinubu also thanked the Saudi authorities for granting him access to the Ka’aba, describing the experience as historic. He expressed confidence that Nigeria would overcome its current challenges through faith in God.
