Nigeria’s star striker Victor Osimhen has finally joined the Super Eagles camp in Cairo ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Osimhen missed the initial arrivals of the team, but his arrival completes Nigeria’s 28-man squad preparing for the tournament.
The team is set to relocate to their AFCON base in Fès, Morocco, in the coming days.
Nigeria is drawn in Group C, with their opening match against Tanzania on December 23, followed by games against Tunisia on December 27 and Uganda on December 30.
Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has urged that Osimhen be named captain for the tournament, highlighting his importance to the squad’s ambitions in the competition.
The Super Eagles are expected to undergo final preparations and training sessions in Cairo before moving to Morocco to kick off their 2025 AFCON campaign.
