The NDC presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Peter Obi, has joined the party’s candidate for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1, RMD Olumuyiwa Owadara, to flag off his campaign for the House of Representatives.
Obi arrived in Lagos on Saturday following engagements in Enugu and Anambra states, as the NDC intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign flag-off follows a Federal High Court ruling in Lagos directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reinstate Owadara as the winner of the party’s May 29 primary and publish his name as its validly elected candidate.
The ruling overturned the substitution of Owadara’s candidacy with that of another aspirant who did not participate in the primary.
Before the campaign event, Obi and other senior party leaders, including his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, led mobilisation activities across major commercial centres in Lagos, including the Trade Fair International Market, as the party seeks to strengthen its support base ahead of the 2027 elections.
