PSC Deploys four Police Commissioners to Plateau, Enugu, Nasarawa and Ondo

The Police Service Commission has approved the deployment of four commissioners of police to Plateau, Enugu, Nasarawa and Ondo states following interviews to assess their suitability for the new assignments.

The commission announced the postings on Thursday at its headquarters in Abuja, saying the officers had been evaluated for their fitness to lead the respective state commands.

The newly deployed commissioners are Sunday J. A. Okoebor, posted to Plateau; Fidelis Ogarabe, to Enugu; Sheikh Mohammed Danko, to Nasarawa; and Johnson Ayodeji Babalola, to Ondo.

PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu, said the postings were made in accordance with Section 215(1)(b) of the 1999 Constitution, which empowers the commission to appoint commissioners of police for each state and the Federal Capital Territory.

Argungu, who was represented by commission board member and retired Supreme Court Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, said the officers had demonstrated the required standards of learning and character during their interviews.

He urged the new commissioners to remain impartial and meet the expectations of their offices.

The commission said the appointments were part of its constitutional responsibility to oversee the appointment of senior police officers to state commands.
