The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a five-hour power interruption in Okpella Town, the Cement Factory and surrounding areas in Edo State due to scheduled maintenance at its Okpella transmission substation.
In a notice issued on Thursday, November 5, 2026, TCN said its maintenance crew would carry out work on the T2 60-megavolt-ampere, 132/33-kilovolt transformer and associated switchgear at the substation.
The maintenance is scheduled to take place between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
TCN explained that the exercise would prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from receiving electricity for onward distribution to customers in the affected areas during the period.
The company apologised to electricity consumers for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption.
The notice was signed by TCN Management on November 5, 2026.
