15 Girls Rescued From Ondo Sex Trafficking Syndicate

Police in Ondo State say they have rescued 15 young women who were allegedly lured into sex trafficking under the guise of job offers.

Spokesperson Olushola Ayanlade said operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit acted on credible intelligence and arrested three suspects, including one Jayeola Joshua of Alagbaka, Akure. More accomplices are being tracked.

The girls, aged 20 to 26, were reportedly recruited from different states with promises of house-help work, ushering jobs and opportunities abroad.

Instead, they were kept in an apartment in Alagbaka, which police say served as the syndicate’s base.

Investigators say the victims were pressured into sending nude photos and videos that were shared with paying clients.

The suspects also disguised the operation as social media “relationship content.”

Police say evidence shows the apartment was deliberately rented for the crime. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the property owners to be invited for questioning.
