At least 17 people have been killed and 15 others injured after gunmen opened fire at a tavern in Wedela township, southwest of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Emergency medical personnel confirmed that all 17 victims died at the scene, while the South African Police Service said 15 other people sustained injuries in the attack.
Police said the motive for the shooting remains unknown as investigations continue.
Authorities are searching for eight suspects who were reportedly armed with AK-47 rifles and pistols.
The attack adds to concerns over gun violence in South Africa, where taverns and other public gathering places have previously been targeted in mass shootings.
