18 Vessels Dock at Lagos Ports for Petroleum, Cargo Operations

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 18 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at the Apapa, Lekki, and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos.

According to the authority, the vessels are offloading bulk fertilizer, general cargo, bulk sugar, gasoline, bulk urea, condensate, bulk gypsum, and containers.

In a shipping position report released on Saturday, the NPA disclosed that 46 additional ships laden with petroleum products, food items, and other goods are expected to arrive at the Lagos ports between Saturday and February 22.

The expected vessels will bring general cargo, bulk urea, bulk wheat, empty containers, crude oil, bulk gypsum, trucks, bulk gas, bulk pallets, containerized goods, bulk salt, and petrol, the NPA stated.

The authority also confirmed that seven ships have already arrived at the ports and are awaiting berthing.

These vessels are carrying bulk urea, crude oil, diesel, aviation fuel, general cargo, and petrol.

The NPA’s shipping position report serves as a crucial advisory for stakeholders in the maritime and logistics sectors, providing visibility on cargo throughput at Nigeria’s busiest seaports.
