The Federal Government says 315 Nigerians stranded in South Africa are expected to arrive in the country on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, as part of a final evacuation exercise.
A statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, said the Air Peace flight will depart South Africa at 1:30 a.m. and arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, by 6:30 a.m.
The evacuation follows recent xenophobic attacks and security concerns in some parts of South Africa, with the government previously conducting four similar flights to bring back affected Nigerians who expressed interest in returning home.
The latest batch comes after an earlier flight returned 40 Nigerians, as the government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens abroad and thanked stakeholders involved in the evacuation process.
