The Lagos State Chairman of Accord, Oladele Oladeji, has asked the party’s national leadership to clarify the appointment of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in Osun.
In an open letter, Oladeji said the reported arrangement raises questions about Adeleke’s political allegiance and its implications for Accord’s identity, candidates and electoral prospects.
He acknowledged Adeleke’s right to make personal political decisions but said his position as governor elected on Accord’s platform makes those decisions important to the party and its members.
Oladeji stressed that political cooperation was not inherently objectionable but called for clarity on its terms, objectives and consequences.
He urged Adeleke to remain committed to the electoral success of Accord candidates nationwide, noting that party members had supported his election as governor.
Oladeji said his intervention was not intended to undermine the party’s leadership but to promote accountability and protect its interests.
He called on Accord’s national leadership to explain the party’s political direction and clarify the implications of the reported arrangement to members and the public.
