Adams Scores Twice in Sevilla Comeback Draw

Nigerian international Akor Adams marked his return from the Africa Cup of Nations with a dramatic performance Monday night, scoring twice to help Sevilla FC salvage a 2-2 draw against Elche CF in a Spanish La Liga match.

Adams came off the bench at halftime and quickly changed the course of the game, netting his first goal in the 75th minute to pull Sevilla back into contention after Elche had taken a 2-0 lead.

With Sevilla still trailing in stoppage time, Adams stepped up to convert a penalty in the second minute of added time, completing his brace and securing a valuable point for his team.

The Nigerian forward’s goals ended Sevilla’s four-game winless run in all competitions and underscored his importance to the club’s attacking play.

Adams, 25, had just returned from duty with the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2025 in Morocco, where he contributed goals and assists to Nigeria’s campaign, helping the team to a third-place finish.

Sevilla remain in the lower half of the La Liga table and will hope the result helps stabilize their campaign as they prepare for a demanding run of league fixtures in the coming weeks.
