The African Democratic Congress has commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for its ward, local government, state congresses, and upcoming national convention.
The party invited interested members to obtain the relevant forms to contest for elective positions at various levels of the party structure.
The announcement was contained in a notice signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Pa Idigo, and shared on Sunday.
According to the notice, the cost of the forms varies depending on the position being contested.
At the ward level, the Expression of Interest Form costs N2,000, while nomination forms cost N10,000 for Ward Chairman, N5,000 for Ward Secretary, and N3,000 for other ward officers.
For local government positions, nomination forms cost N40,000 for LGA Chairman, N30,000 for LGA Secretary, and N10,000 for other LGA officers.
At the state level, State Chairman forms cost N500,000, State Secretary forms cost N300,000, while other state executive positions cost N50,000 each.
The party also fixed the nomination fee for delegates to the National Convention at N10,000 per delegate, with each local government required to send one delegate.
The notice further stated that aspirants must secure a required number of nominators, each of whom
Must pay a non-refundable fee of N500.
Ward Chairman aspirants are required to have 10 nominators, while other ward officers need five nominators each.
At the local government level, chairman aspirants must secure 20 nominators across the local government area, while other officers require 10 nominators each.
For state positions, State Chairman aspirants must obtain 50 nominators from across the state, with at least one nominator from each local government area, while other state officers require 20 nominators each.
The party announced that the sale and submission of forms will close on March 27, 2026, while screening of aspirants is scheduled for March 30 to March 31, 2026.
According to the party timetable, polling unit and ward congresses will hold on April 7, local government congresses on April 9, and state congresses on April 11.
The process will culminate in the party’s National Convention scheduled for April 14, 2026.
