The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, David Mark, says the party will not allow itself to be rigged out in the 2027 general elections.
Mark made the statement on Wednesday when the Governing Council of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development visited the ADC headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation was led by former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, as part of the Centre’s ongoing engagement with political parties and leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ariwoola said the Centre was committed to promoting free, fair and credible elections and urged ADC leaders to ensure their candidates and members comply with the rules of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and avoid political violence.
Responding, Mark reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to playing by the rules and promoting public confidence in the democratic process.
He said the party would comply with INEC’s electoral guidelines and its own code of conduct, contained in its Orange Book.
Mark, however, stressed that the party would resist any attempt to manipulate the electoral process against it.
The ADC chairman said, “We will play by the rules. But we will not accept rigging or allow ourselves to be rigged out.”
The Savannah Centre delegation included members of its Governing Council, known as the Council of the Wise, as well as its Executive Director, Ambassador Sani Bala, and other senior officials.
