Adeleke Dismisses School Kidnapping Rumours in Osun

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged residents to disregard reports of alleged school kidnappings in parts of the state, describing the claims as false and intended to cause panic.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor said checks conducted across communities confirmed that no school kidnapping incidents had occurred.

Adeleke assured parents and residents that measures had been put in place to protect schools, noting that the Ministry of Education and security agencies were implementing a comprehensive school safety strategy.

He also disclosed that Armoured Personnel Carriers inherited from the previous administration had been refurbished and would be deployed to strengthen security operations across the state.

The governor urged residents to remain calm and go about their daily activities, adding that intelligence networks were monitoring border communities and other vulnerable areas.

Adeleke reiterated his administration's commitment to safeguarding schools, lives and property across Osun State.
