The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has urged the CEOs of federal agencies to take information about the administration’s reforms and achievements to communities across the country.
Akume made the call on Friday in Abuja while receiving a delegation of the Forum of CEOs of Federal Parastatals, led by its Convener and Chairman, Kazeem Kolawale Raji, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the National Board for Technology Incubation.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office, Bekearedebo Augusta Warrens, the SGF said effective grassroots communication was necessary to address what he described as disinformation surrounding the government’s economic reforms.
He urged the CEOs to use their respective agencies and networks to communicate the impact of government policies to Nigerians and promote greater public understanding of the reforms.
Akume also commended the forum for promoting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda across their respective agencies and assured its members of continued institutional support from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The SGF further called for a structured framework to strengthen collaboration between the forum and his office, particularly in communicating and documenting the activities and achievements of federal agencies.
Earlier, Raji conferred the position of Grand Patron of the Forum of CEOs of Federal Parastatals on Akume, citing his leadership and role in coordinating government affairs.
Raji also said the forum plans to mobilise 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election through what he described as lawful, peaceful, ethical and issue-based grassroots engagement.
He said the forum would rely on professional and community networks within federal agencies to bridge the gap between government policies and the public, while ensuring that information about the administration’s reforms and achievements is accurately communicated.
The Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Chidiebere John Ezeamama, called for the creation of a centralised digital platform to facilitate real-time information sharing between the forum and the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
He said the platform would also help coordinate inter-agency participation and track developmental milestones for proper documentation.
