The Allied People's Movement (APM) says Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has the support to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the party said recent criticism of Makinde by the Presidency reflects what it described as growing concern over the governor's rising popularity ahead of the next general election.
The APM argued that the 2027 presidential race would be between Makinde and President Tinubu, claiming many Nigerians are seeking a change in leadership.
It also praised Makinde's record in Oyo State, saying his administration has improved the state's economy and strengthened calls for him to contest the presidency.
The party further claimed that many young Nigerians are backing Makinde's potential presidential bid.
It urged the Presidency to focus on policy debates rather than personal attacks, insisting that the 2027 election should be decided on performance and ideas.
