Arsenal Beat Bayern 3–1 in Confident Champions League Win

Arsenal started brightly and kept control from the first whistle. Their pressure paid off in the 22nd minute when Jurrien Timber headed in Bukayo Saka’s corner — Arsenal’s 10th goal from a corner this season and the most by any team in Europe’s top five leagues.

Bayern responded well after going behind and found their rhythm. Joshua Kimmich picked out Serge Gnabry with a long crossfield pass, and the winger squared it for 17-year-old Lennart Karl to finish calmly from close range.

That goal was the first Arsenal had conceded in the competition this season, but it didn’t knock their confidence.

Arsenal regained the lead after the break through Noni Madueke, who guided in a strong cross from substitute Riccardo Calafiori.

The Gunners kept control as the game opened up and continued to look dangerous going forward.

Their pressure paid off again when Eberechi Eze floated a perfect pass over the Bayern defence, allowing Gabriel Martinelli to round Manuel Neuer and seal Bayern Munich’s first defeat of the season.
