Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, has hosted what organisers are calling the world’s longest iftar table, bringing together thousands of orphans and underprivileged families for a mass meal during the holy month of Ramadan.
Officials said the initiative was designed to promote charity, social inclusion, and community unity, key values of Ramadan.
“This event is about more than food—it is about sharing, caring, and strengthening social bonds,” one organiser said.
The gathering also coincided with hundreds of displaced Palestinians in central Gaza breaking their fast, underscoring the broader humanitarian outreach across the region.
Organisers hope such initiatives will inspire continued support for vulnerable communities during Ramadan and beyond.
