The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has introduced new mandatory requirements for all Business Name Online Update requests, effective immediately.
In a notice issued by the commission, applicants must now provide the following details when seeking to update their registered business information:
Date of birth
Registered office email
Proprietor’s email
Phone number for the registered
address or proprietor (if different)
A valid means of identification
The CAC said the additional requirements are aimed at strengthening verification processes, improving record accuracy, and enhancing the security of business registration data.
The commission advised business owners to ensure full compliance when submitting update requests to avoid delays in processing.
