CAF Awards AFCON 2025  Final to Morocco

The Confederation of African Football Appeal Board has awarded the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final to Morocco after ruling that Senegal forfeited the match.

The decision followed an appeal by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football, which challenged an earlier ruling by the CAF Disciplinary Board.

The Appeal Board held that the conduct of the Senegal team breached relevant provisions of the competition regulations, making the protest by Morocco valid.

As a result, the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football was found to have infringed the rules, and the match was awarded 3–0 in favour of Morocco.

On related matters, the board also ruled on disciplinary issues involving Morocco player Ismael Saibari.

His sanction was reduced to a two match suspension, with one match suspended, while a previously imposed fine was set aside.

The Appeal Board also reviewed other incidents, including those involving ball boys, VAR interference, and the use of lasers, reducing some fines while upholding others against the Moroccan federation.

All other appeals and requests were dismissed.
