Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has released different squad lists for Nigeria’s upcoming Unity Cup tournament and international friendly matches against Poland and Portugal.
The Unity Cup squad features a blend of home-based players and established foreign-based stars, with goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, Arthur Okonkwo, and Michael Atata included in the selection. The team is set to face Zimbabwe in the semi-final next Tuesday.
In defence, players such as Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu, and Emmanuel Fernandez were named, while the midfield includes Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, and Alhassan Yusuf among others. The attacking lineup features Moses Simon, Akor Adams, Terem Moffi, and Philip Otele.
For the Poland and Portugal friendlies, Chelle selected a more senior squad featuring key players such as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, and Calvin Bassey. Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye also returns to the mix alongside Uzoho and Okonkwo.
Defensive options for the friendlies include Bright Osayi-Samuel, Zaidu Sanusi, and Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, while the midfield is anchored by Ndidi, Onyeka, and Dele-Bashiru. The forward line also includes Samuel Chukwueze and Paul Onuachu.
The Super Eagles will use both sets of fixtures as preparation for upcoming competitive international tournaments, with matches scheduled against Zimbabwe, Poland, and Portugal in the coming weeks.
