Chelsea Complete £52m Signing of Defender Maxence Lacroix

Chelsea have completed the signing of France international defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace in a deal reportedly worth £52 million.

The 26-year-old has signed a six-year contract with the Blues and will join the squad for pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign.

Speaking after the move, Lacroix expressed his excitement at joining Chelsea, describing the club as one with a rich winning tradition.

He said he shares the same ambition as manager Xabi Alonso and is eager to help the team compete for trophies.

Lacroix arrives at Stamford Bridge after making 98 appearances for Crystal Palace following his move from Wolfsburg in 2024.

During his time at Selhurst Park, he won the FA Cup, UEFA Conference League and Community Shield.

The French defender becomes Chelsea's latest signing under Alonso, who is rebuilding the squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
