Court Sentences Two Men To Clean Court Premises For One Week

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Wuse, Abuja, has sentenced Sunday Wudarna and Shedrack Danjuma to clean the court premises for one week after they were found guilty of house breaking and theft.

Magistrate Farida Ibrahim warned the duo to desist from crime and maintain good behaviour.

The police charged Wudarna and Danjuma with joint act, criminal trespass, shop breaking, and theft, to which they pleaded guilty.

Prosecution counsel, Samuel Emmanuel, told the court that the complainant, Afamafuna Anira, reported the incident at Mabushi Police Station on August 25.

According to him, the two broke into Anira’s welding shop and stole:

15 window protectors valued at ₦975,000

Iron worth ₦300,000

A door protector worth ₦180,000

A window protector valued at ₦280,000

A ladder worth ₦120,000

Emmanuel said the offences contravened Sections 79, 347, 348, and 288 of the Penal Code.

Wudarna and Danjuma pleaded for mercy during sentencing.
