The Nigerian Army has promoted 28 senior officers to Major General in a ceremony at Abuja. Defence Minister General Christopher Musa urged the officers to prove their worth with dedication and loyalty, highlighting their key role in tackling security challenges.
He called for better cooperation among security agencies and assured government support for improved welfare and resources.
Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu praised the merit-based promotions and ongoing efforts to boost morale.
Major General Francis Omata, on behalf of the promoted officers, pledged loyalty and thanked President Tinubu for the approval.
The event drew top military and government officials, including former President Goodluck Jonathan.
