DSS Rescues Remaining Abducted Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda Students

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have rescued the remaining four students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were abducted by gunmen in Zamfara State.

The rescue operation was carried out on Wednesday following an intelligence-led operation by the DSS. According to security sources, no ransom was paid for the students' release.

One suspected kidnapper was arrested during the operation, while others involved in the abduction were killed.

The students were among six undergraduates kidnapped on June 3 after armed bandits attacked their off-campus hostel in the Low-Cost area of Kaura Namoda town.

Two of the students had regained their freedom earlier, while security operatives continued efforts to secure the release of the remaining four.

The successful operation comes just days after DSS operatives rescued a professor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in another operation, underscoring ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle kidnapping and other violent crimes.
