The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned social media influencer and self-styled relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, known as Blessing CEO, before a Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged N36 million frauds.
She appeared before Justice D.I. Dipeolu on Friday at the Ikoyi division of the court on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
Prosecutors say she allegedly collected N36 million from a complainant for the lease of a six-bedroom duplex in Lekki, but the transaction was fraudulent.
At the start of proceedings, defence counsel P.I. Nwafor told the court the defendant had refunded N24 million and sought an adjournment to settle the balance. He added that the complainant was open to withdrawing the case if the remaining funds were paid.

But prosecution counsel S.I. Suleiman opposed the request, saying the Federal Government remains the complainant and the arraignment should proceed.
Justice Dipeolu ruled that settlement discussions could continue but ordered the defendant to take her plea.
She pleaded not guilty and was remanded in EFCC custody, with the case adjourned to June 5 for trial.
