EFCC Releases Activists Randy Peter, Mama Pee After Hours of Questioning

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released activists Randy Peter and Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, after they honoured an invitation by the anti-graft agency in Abuja.

The activists were released shortly after midnight on Wednesday after spending about 11 hours at the EFCC headquarters, according to fellow activist Justice Cracks, who accompanied them.

In a post on X, Justice Cracks said the pair arrived at the commission's office around 1 p.m. on Tuesday and were later asked to return on Thursday for further engagement.

The prolonged questioning had sparked speculation on social media after Peter Obi's 2023 campaign photographer, Esther Umoh, disclosed that the activists had not left the EFCC premises several hours after honouring the invitation.

Justice Cracks later confirmed that both activists had been released and that they would report back to the commission as directed.

The EFCC has not publicly disclosed the reason for inviting the two activists.
