An explosion hit the General Hospital in Bagudo, Kebbi State early Tuesday, causing panic among residents. Thankfully, no one was hurt, police said.
SP Bashir Usman, the Police Public Relations Officer, said security agencies quickly secured the area.
A joint team of police, military, and vigilante personnel cordoned off the hospital. Bomb disposal experts also checked the site.
A building in the staff quarters was damaged, but all occupants had safely evacuated.
The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police has deployed additional personnel to maintain order. Authorities urged residents to stay clear of the hospital while investigations continue.
“We are grateful no lives were lost,” Usman said.
