Payments for outstanding 2024 capital projects have begun, according to the office of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The announcement was made by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to the President.
He said full implementation of the capital components of the 2024 and 2025 budgets is targeted for completion on or before March 31, 2026.
The Special Adviser added that all ministries, departments, and agencies must submit their cash plans for the 2025 capital budget by the close of business on Monday, February 23.
Dare said payment processing will begin immediately after the cash plans are submitted.
He noted that the move is aimed at ensuring timely execution of government projects.
According to him, it will also help settle outstanding debts inherited from previous administrations.
