FG Signs BASA Deal With Morocco to Boost Flights, Tourism

The Federal Government has signed a revised Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with Morocco to strengthen aviation ties, expand flight operations and boost tourism between both countries.

The agreement was signed by Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo at the Global Implementation Support Symposium in Marrakech.

According to a statement by ministry spokesman Tunde Moshood, the deal provides a “modern and forward-looking framework” to improve air connectivity and deepen commercial cooperation.

“It establishes a modern and forward-looking framework that enhances connectivity, deepens commercial cooperation, and expands operational opportunities for airlines, airports, and regulatory institutions,” the statement said.

The government said the agreement is expected to increase flight options, improve airline operations and strengthen economic and tourism links between Nigeria and Morocco.

It added that the deal aligns with broader aviation goals, including safety, security and sustainability, while promoting trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
