Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, preached at Lambeth Palace on Thursday, marking a highlight of Nigeria’s first state visit to the United Kingdom in nearly four decades.
Speaking to attendees, Tinubu encouraged unity and faith.
“We have to learn to listen to each other and try to get the good out of everyone, irrespective of who we are or who we worship,” she said.
She also shared her personal experiences, including a daily spiritual practice during her bout with COVID-19.
“I wrote a book during that time, called Time of It, around 2017. I’m not a writer, but I can do all things. There’s nothing I can’t do,” Tinubu added.
Reflecting on her public service, she said, “I started as a teacher, then went into the Senate. God kept me there for three terms, 12 years.
We’re doing exceedingly abundant here at home. Let’s walk what we are doing.”
The First Lady is also scheduled to meet representatives of the Church of England, highlighting the religious and diplomatic dimensions of the visit.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu concluded his visit to 10 Downing Street, where security matters were discussed. No further details were disclosed.
