Former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami and his son, Abdulazeez, appeared in court this week facing terrorism financing and illegal firearms charges.
The Department of State Services alleges that Malami failed to prosecute known terrorism financiers during his time as Nigeria’s chief law officer.
Both men pleaded not guilty to all counts.
The defense asked for bail, but the court remanded them until the next hearing on February 20, when the trial will officially begin.
