The proposed blockbuster bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been contractually agreed, according to Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.
Hearn dismissed Fury’s recent suggestion that the long-awaited all-British heavyweight clash may not happen, saying both fighters are bound by signed contracts.
“The fight’s signed. No-one can pull out of the fight. You can’t just pull out of a contract,” Hearn told DAZN on Sunday.
However, the date and venue remain unresolved.
The fight was initially expected to take place in the United Kingdom in November, but Saudi organisers Sela are pushing for the bout to be staged in the United States.
New York’s Madison Square Garden is reportedly among the venues being considered, while the fight is also expected to be broadcast on Netflix.
Hearn said Joshua’s camp would prefer to stage the fight in Britain but could consider the United States if the terms are favourable.
He added that talks with Sela were ongoing, insisting there was no indication the fight was in danger of collapsing.
Fury and Joshua have been linked with a blockbuster meeting for years, with the venue and date now the major outstanding details.
