Ganduje Inaugurated as FAAN Board Chairman Weeks After Resigning APC Chairmanship

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has officially been inaugurated as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The inauguration ceremony took place on Wednesday in Abuja, with a video of the event shared on social media by Gbenga Saka, the Special Adviser on Digital Media to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

Ganduje’s appointment as FAAN Board Chair was first announced in January by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but the formal inauguration comes just weeks after he stepped down from his position as APC National Chairman.

According to the APC, Ganduje resigned to focus on "urgent and important personal matters.” His resignation letter, addressed to the party’s National Secretary, was said to have expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve at the top level of the ruling party.

Ganduje led the APC from August 2023 until his resignation in mid-2025. The party has since appointed Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Dalori, to hold the fort in acting capacity pending a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to decide on a substantive replacement.
