Governor Lawal Reaffirms Support For Troops At Zamfara Security Council Meeting

Governor Dauda Lawal has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting security operatives in Zamfara State as efforts continue to tackle insecurity across the state.

The governor made the pledge on Thursday while presiding over the weekly State Security Council meeting at the Government House in Gusau.

According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the meeting brought together heads of security agencies operating in the state to review the security situation and strengthen strategies for addressing emerging threats.

The statement said discussions focused on increasing security presence in volatile areas and improving rapid response capabilities during emergencies.

Lawal assured security chiefs of his readiness to provide the necessary support to ensure the welfare and effectiveness of troops deployed across the state.

“He assured the heads of the security agencies of his readiness to take all necessary measures to ensure the well-being of troops operating in the state,” the statement said.

The governor stressed that achieving a safer and more secure Zamfara remains a top priority of his administration, adding that his office would continue to remain accessible to security agencies in the discharge of their duties.

The State Security Council meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to strengthen collaboration with security agencies in combating banditry and other security challenges in Zamfara.
