I Can’t Abandon “Dependable” Wike –Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has said he cannot abandon Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers because he has proven to be a trusted and dependable ally.

Ortom disclosed this at a banquet in honor of Governors Wike, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Seyi Makinde on Sunday in Makurdi.

He said Governor Wike was the first person to condemn the bandit attack on him (Ortom).

He also disclosed that his Rivers State counterpart has been generous to Benue State.

“When Benue was under siege, he donated N250 million and he subsequently spent over N700 million to support the state to tackle the humanitarian crisis occasioned by the unwarranted attacks,” Governor Ortom said.

“He did not stop at that. He convinced Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom to also assist the state and he donated N200 million to us.

Governor Ortom also said Governor Wike donated N200 million at different times when two markets in Benue State were burnt.

“Is he not a worthy friend?” he asked.

The Benue State governor also classified anyone supporting Abubakar Atiku’s presidential ambition as his enemy.
