Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has decorated 13 newly promoted Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 17 Commissioners of Police, urging them to uphold integrity, professionalism and accountability in their new roles.
Speaking during the decoration ceremony, Disu said the promotions were not just rewards for past achievements but a call to greater responsibility and service to Nigerians.
He charged the senior officers to lead by example, warning against corruption, abuse of power and misconduct while encouraging them to build a modern, intelligence-driven and technology-oriented police force.
The IGP also stressed the importance of public trust, describing it as essential to effective policing and the ability of security agencies to gather information that can protect lives and communities.
