INEC Assures Credible Ekiti Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission says it is fully prepared for the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, says all arrangements have been concluded to ensure a smooth, transparent and credible process.

According to the commission, more than 1 million registered voters are expected to participate across the state's 16 local government areas.

INEC says the BVAS accreditation system and the IReV results portal will be used to enhance transparency.

The commission also disclosed that security agencies, anti corruption bodies, election observers and media organisations have been mobilised for the exercise.

Prof. Amupitan assured stakeholders that every valid vote will count and urged voters to come out peacefully and participate in the election.
