The Iranian and Nigerian governments have held talks on strengthening defence cooperation and efforts to combat terrorism.
Iran’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja, met with Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, in Abuja on Thursday to discuss regional and international developments.
According to details from the meeting, both sides explored areas of collaboration in military training, defence affairs, and the exchange of expertise and capabilities in tackling terrorism and other security challenges.
The discussions also highlighted the longstanding diplomatic relationship between Iran and Nigeria, which has spanned more than five decades.
The two countries currently cooperate in sectors including trade, energy, education, and agriculture.
