The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has commenced the registration process for the 2026 Direct Entry admissions into tertiary institutions across the country.
The board announced that the sale of Direct Entry application documents is now underway nationwide, urging eligible candidates to begin their registration promptly and adhere strictly to approved guidelines.
The registration exercise is scheduled to run for several weeks, after which the portal will be closed in preparation for the next phase of the admission process.
Direct Entry is designed for candidates who possess advanced qualifications such as diplomas, NCE, IJMB or equivalent certificates and wish to secure admission directly into the second year of university programmes without sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
JAMB reiterated that applicants must complete their registration at designated centres and ensure that all personal details, including their National Identity Number, are correctly captured to avoid disqualification.
The board also warned candidates against patronising unauthorised agents, stressing that only accredited centres are permitted to carry out the registration.
With the exercise now in progress, thousands of prospective applicants are expected to take advantage of the opportunity as part of preparations for the 2026/2027 academic session.
