The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified why some candidates are seeing a “No Result Yet” message when attempting to check their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.
In a statement issued by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the Board said the results of underage candidates have not been released, hence the system response.
According to JAMB, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to register for and sit the UTME in line with existing regulations.
The Board, however, noted that exceptions exist for academically outstanding underage candidates. Such candidates must score 320 and above in the UTME and attain at least 80 per cent in subsequent screening stages to be considered.
JAMB further explained that, based on an agreement endorsed by parents of underage candidates, only those who meet the 320 score threshold will be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the next phase of assessment.
It added that candidates who successfully scale through the additional screening stages may then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates category.
“For now, results for underage candidates remain unreleased,” the statement emphasised.
The clarification follows growing concerns and inquiries from parents and candidates over the “No Result Yet” status displayed on the result-checking portals.
