The Lagos State Government says rehabilitation work on a section of Ozumba Mbadiwe Road along the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway is expected to be completed by the end of November 2026.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola, gave the timeline during an inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation project covering the Bonny Camp-Ozumba Mbadiwe-Admiralty intersection corridor.
According to the state government, work is ongoing on the Epe-bound carriageway between Adetokunbo Ademola Intersection and Samuel Manuwa Junction.
The government said earthworks had been completed on the section, while a stabilised crushed-stone base and geotextile material had been installed to help prevent water from filtering through the pavement structure.
At the time of the inspection, workers were laying sand bedding in preparation for the installation of interlocking paving stones.
The state government said the choice of paving stones was informed by the area's high water table, climatic conditions and damage associated with overloaded articulated trucks using the road.
Daramola also inspected the traffic management arrangements around the construction site. The government said the measures were helping to maintain traffic flow and minimise disruption to motorists along the corridor.
It commended motorists for complying with the temporary traffic arrangements and appealed for continued patience and cooperation while work continues.
The government said the contractor was expected to complete the rehabilitation by the end of November, after which it would temporarily demobilise from the site to reduce traffic disruptions and improve movement during the Yuletide season.
