Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the release of funds for the payment of gratuities to retired civil servants under Batch 3 (2024/2025), in a move aimed at strengthening welfare support for retirees.
The state Commissioner for Information, Mahmud Dantawasa, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the approval reflects the administration’s commitment to honouring the service of former public workers.
According to him, the Office of the Accountant-General has already commenced the necessary processes to ensure prompt disbursement of the funds to eligible beneficiaries.
“This timely payment of gratuity is a testament to the governor’s commitment to recognising the contributions of retirees,” Dantawasa said.
He added that the payment process would be handled transparently and efficiently, while urging beneficiaries to remain patient as arrangements are finalised.
The state government said the initiative forms part of broader efforts to restore confidence in public service and prioritise the welfare of retired workers.
