Makinde Promises Inclusive Governance, Pledges to Tackle Insecurity and Poverty

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, has pledged inclusive governance and reforms to address insecurity, poverty and other national challenges if elected president in 2027.

Makinde, who is also the governor of Oyo State, made the promise at the APM North-East Town Hall meeting in Yola, Adamawa State.

He said his administration would pursue a reset agenda aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians through reforms across different sectors.

The presidential candidate said his government would ensure that power-sharing arrangements did not favour any particular part of the country.

He explained that the delay in releasing his manifesto was deliberate, as he wanted to consult Nigerians and incorporate their concerns and expectations into his policies.

Makinde pledged to be transparent about the country’s challenges and listen to citizens, noting that solutions could come from any part of the country.

Also speaking at the meeting, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed urged supporters to vote for the APM in the 2027 general elections, describing its candidates as credible and capable of leading the country.

The party’s governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Abdulrahaman Haske, thanked Makinde for choosing the state to host the North-East meeting and called on supporters to strengthen the party’s presence across local communities.

The meeting was attended by party stakeholders from Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Adamawa and Yobe states.
