Moroccan authorities have released three Senegalese football supporters who were detained following the violence that erupted during the Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat.
The fans were freed after completing their three-month prison sentences for their involvement in the unrest that marred the final.
The trio were among 18 individuals convicted over the incident, which involved pitch invasion, throwing objects, and clashes with security personnel during the match.
They were released from Al Arjat 2 prison near Rabat before being handed over to authorities and later reunited with representatives of the Senegalese embassy.
However, 15 other Senegalese supporters remain in custody, serving longer sentences ranging from six months to one year after their convictions were upheld on appeal.
The arrests followed chaotic scenes during the AFCON final, which was overshadowed by controversy, including fan violence and disputes over refereeing decisions.
The incident remains one of the major flashpoints from the tournament, which has continued to generate debate across African football.
