NAF Airstrikes Kill Terrorists, Destroy Enclave in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has destroyed a terrorist enclave and killed several fighters during fresh airstrikes in Borno State as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

According to the Air Force, the operation was carried out on July 10 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai at Yaganari in the Gezuwa general area after credible intelligence indicated renewed terrorist activity in the area.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the strikes were launched.

“The targets were subsequently engaged in a series of precision strikes, leading to the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the neutralisation of several terrorists,” the statement said.

The Air Force said the operation further weakened the terrorists’ ability to regroup and move freely, describing it as another significant success in the ongoing campaign against insurgents.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended the personnel involved for their professionalism and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups.

“The Nigerian Air Force will continue to deliver decisive air power in concert with surface forces to hunt down, disrupt and destroy terrorist elements wherever they may seek refuge,” Aneke said.

He added that the Armed Forces remained focused on consolidating gains recorded in ongoing operations against terrorist groups across the country.
