NAFRC Inaugurates Entrepreneurship Course for Senior, Mid-Level Officers

The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, has inaugurated the Senior and Mid-Level Entrepreneurship and Management Course 18/2026, designed to equip military officers with entrepreneurial, managerial, and leadership skills for effective post-service life.

The Commandant of NAFRC, Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, formally inaugurated the course, congratulating participants on their selection and urging them to embrace discipline, innovation, and adaptability.

He said the programme would deepen their understanding of the civilian business environment while strengthening their capacity for strategic decision-making and leadership.

He also expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, the Minister of Defence, and the Federal Government for their support in ensuring the success of the programme, noting that such initiatives are critical to preparing personnel for a productive life after service.

The Special Guest of Honour, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Sule, Air Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Nigerian Air Force, Lagos, commended NAFRC for its continued commitment to human capacity development.

He described the course as a vital bridge between military service and entrepreneurial engagement, urging participants to maximise the opportunity.

Speaking on behalf of the Empretec Nigeria Foundation, Dr (Mrs) Onari Duke, represented by Dr Lemmy Omololu, described the programme as a strategic investment in national development.

She said the initiative was aimed at transforming military experience into enterprise leadership, innovation, and economic impact.

She noted that the training combines entrepreneurship development, leadership, and management studies with practical exposure through industry visits to selected organisations, designed to prepare participants for real-world business challenges.

Dr Omololu emphasised that the programme reflects a strong partnership between NAFRC and the Empretec Nigeria Foundation, aimed at building Nigeria’s human capital and promoting economic resilience through entrepreneurship education.

The course is expected to run through May 2026, with both senior and mid-level officers participating in structured academic and practical sessions before a joint graduation ceremony scheduled for later in the month.
