
The National Assembly will welcome President Bola Tinubu for a special joint sitting on 12 June to commemorate Democracy Day.
This information was released by the House of Representatives, emphasizing the event's significance in marking 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance.
The joint sitting, themed "26 Years of Democracy: Renewing Our Commitment to National Development," will be held at the House of Representatives Chamber.
Preliminary proceedings are set to begin at 11 a.m., with President Tinubu arriving at noon to deliver a Presidential Address.
The session will also feature goodwill messages from former presiding officers of the National Assembly and the conferment of National Honours on select lawmakerss by the president.
