NIGCOMSAT Targets ₦8bn Revenue, Secures Approval for Two New Satellites

The Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) says it is targeting ₦8 billion in revenue within the next three years as it strengthens its commercial operations.

Managing Director, Jane Egerton-Idehen, disclosed this in Lagos, saying the agency is expanding services and improving delivery across key sectors.

She said NIGCOMSAT has already recorded ₦2.2 billion in revenue in 2025, reflecting steady growth in demand.

Egerton-Idehen also announced that the federal government has approved the launch of two new satellites, expected to go live between 2028 and 2029.

According to her, the project will boost Nigeria’s participation in the global space economy and improve satellite-based services nationwide.

She added that the agency is supporting over 80 startups through its space accelerator programme, with innovations in agriculture, healthcare, fintech, and defence.

NIGCOMSAT says the focus is now on building a stronger tech ecosystem driven by local innovation rather than government-only solutions.
